Jimmie Johnson gets the win Dover, 10 wins there so far in his career.

Well Jimmie and Chad might not be getting along these days on the radio but they are dominating the 2015 season so far. With the new format win your in I think it changes how drivers/teams approach each race. The phrase wreckers or checkers pretty much sums it up. Jimmie showed this driving style in Charlotte and he wrecked it. Why not wreck it if you can’t win, not on purpose of course but go out on the edge and if you crash it trying to get the win so be it if you already have a win in the bank.  The new package is to Jimmie’s liking, loose race cars are fast!  Obviously Kevin Harvick is okay with it too, another 2nd place finish, never seen this performance level either.

Carl Edwards gets the long awaited win in the Coke 600.

Came down to a fuel mileage race and Carl pulled out the victory.  Don’t think I saw anyone run out of fuel that went for it actually, these tapered spacers are helping get better mileage for sure.

Jimmie Johnson gets the win in Kansas.

Martin Truex Jr. deserved the win on Saturday night, he had the best car but the cautions at the end never helped him get the win.  Jimmie Johnson had a good car, but help from teammate Dale. Earnhardt Jr. helped him hold off Kevin Harvick who finished 2nd again.  I am not sure how Harvick can be so good every week, they obviously have something figured out that few others do.

Well Denny Hamlin gets the win at Martinsville ending the Hendrick dominance there

So interesting week to say the least. Biggest topic to say the least had to be the tire tampering as Nascar called it. From what I can gather out of it all teams where either putting holes in tires purposely so the tires would leak air as tire pressures increased or they maybe had check valves  in the tires stems that would do the same.  Nascar did make a warning before Martinsville telling  teams to stop manipulating with the tires. Well as it turns out there was one team that got fined from tires taken from the Fontana race. Ryan Newman and team were hit with a P5 Penalty which essentially takes away 75 points from Ryan Newman the team loses crew chief Luke Lambert and team tire technician James Bender and team engineer Philip Surgen for the next 6 races.

I think the tire thing has obviously been going on for some time, or at least that is the rumor that it is out there.

Yep Kevin Harvick and the 4 car are pretty much the class of the field every week it seems.  They didn’t win Sunday but again had an amazing car that could have easily won.  Bad Brad and the 2 team made the right pit call for 4 tires and it paid off for the green white checker finish.

Kevin Harvick and team are in their own ZIP code. The finishes he has had this year already are mind boggling with the competition being as strong as it is.  7 Straight races with either a first or second place finish, 4 of those wins.

Well well Kevin Harvick, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st in the last 6 races and off to Phoenix this weekend where he has won 4 of the last 5 races there.  That team is on fire, can’t imagine him slowing down one bit this year.

Well looks like we are continuing with drivers who had success last year are having success again this year. Joey Logano wins the Daytona 500 and ran strong in Atlanta. Kevin Harvick finishes second in Daytona and Atlanta. Jimmie Johnson must like the new rules package as he gets the win in Atlanta and had a good finish in the 500 opener in Daytona.

I think the new rules package will make for better racing although the usual suspects seem to be up front again.  So it remains to be seen if we can get cars with less funding more competitive.
