Kevin Harvick wins back to back races, wins at Homestead and wins the Championship for 2014.  Congratulations Kevin.

Was a good race other than all the annoying cautions.  Just when the racing was good there was a wreck with cars 2+ laps down or debris from the cars that were already wrecked and just out there riding around.

Off to Homestead we go on Sunday.  With the 4 Chasers left they better hope they have a mistake free Sunday.

Jimmie Johnson gets the win in Texas.

Jimmie has struggled this year, well by their standards they struggled, not the dominant team this year.

Brad Keselowski in another altercation, yep imagine. I think I have to agree with the comment that he is a dipsh!t.  One thing for sure Brad is never at fault.

Round 3 of the Chase has one more race this weekend in Phoenix before the finale in Homestead in 3 weeks.

Texas-2

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets his first win in Martinsville

One week too late for the win as Dale was eliminated in Talladega from the Chase.

Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski both got caught up in wrecks in Martinsville. Both Kevin Brad need good finishes and/or wins in the next two races.

Penske dominance, well wow are they on their game this year.  Brad Keselowski gets the win in Talladega.

Brad needed the win to move on to the next round of the Chase.

Out of the next round of the Chase are Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne and Kyle Busch.

I will say restrictor plate races should not be part of the Chase but they are promoting winning is everything and it worked for Brad that much is for sure.

Round 2 of the Chase is over, and we are down to 8 drivers in the Chase.  We narrow that down to the final 4 after the next 3 races.

Jeff Gordon finally breaks the Penske dominance with the win in Dover!

Round 1 of the Chase is over, and we are down to 12 drivers in the Chase.  We narrow that down to 8 after the next 3 races.

Okay I must say how many different ways can Kevin Harvick lose a race.  Seven poles this year and probably the best car 1/3 of the races this year and still only 2 wins?

Kevin has Tony Stewart’s pit crew but another flat tire from someone or something hitting the inner valve stem, second time at Dover for Kevin this year.

There were contenders on Sunday but Brad kept his car up front when it counted and will move on to the next round because of the win regardless of what happens to him for the next two races.

Off to New Hamsphire we go this weekend, we should have another good race there.

I think Brad Keselowski let it be known he is ready to race for the 2014 Championship with the win in Richmond last Saturday night.

We have the 16 drivers ready to go with the new format, should be interesting to say the least over the next 10 weeks. One thing for sure if any of the drivers gets a DNF they better hope they get a win in that elimination round or be prepared to not make the next round of the Chase.

Richmond-Brad

We have a big swing in the pool standings but remember as the Chase moves on points are reset for drivers who are eliminated. Chase Points System

Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Structure After the third Chase race, the Chase Grid will be left with 12 drivers. After the sixth Chase race, the field will drop to eight drivers, and following the ninth Chase race, only four drivers will remain in championship contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup title. The first round (races 27-29) will be called the Challenger Round. If a driver in the Chase Grid wins a Challenger Round race, the driver automatically advances to the next round. The remaining available positions 1-12 that have not been filled based upon wins will be based on points. Each will then have their points reset to 3,000.
The second round (races 30-32) will be called the Contender Round. Likewise, if a driver in the top 12 in points wins a race in the Contender Round, the driver automatically advances to the next round. The remaining available positions 1-8 that have not been filled based upon wins will be based on points. Each will then have their points reset to 4,000.
The third round (races 33-35) will be called the Eliminator Round. If a driver in the top eight in points wins a race in the Eliminator Round, the driver automatically advances to the next round. The remaining available positions 1-4 that have not been filled based upon wins will be based on points. Each will then have their points reset to 5,000.
Additionally, drivers who are eliminated in the Contender and Eliminator Rounds will have their points readjusted. Each eliminated driver will return to the Chase-start base of 2,000 (plus any regular season wins bonus points), with their accumulated points starting with race No. 27 added. This will allow all drivers not in contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup title to continue to race for the best possible season-long standing, with final positions fifth-through-16th still up for grabs.

Well I would say the win for Kasey Kahne on Sunday night in Atlanta was from sheer desire. Kasey drove like he was on a mission.

Kevin Harvick had the car to beat again but he got caught up in a late caution that put him in the wall.  Again Kevin threw his pit crew under the bus saying they need to do a better job as they were getting beat on the pit stops.  Okay you have the best car for probably 10 races this year but you continue to beat your team on live TV on how they need to be better.  Happy Harvick isn’t so Happy when he doesn’t win.
