So it wasn’t Kyle Busch in the winner’s circle at Richmond. Had he not had a speeding penalty on pit road maybe he would have pulled it off, he had a great car on Saturday night. As it was it came down to Martin Truex Jr. and Joey Logano fighting it out on the last laps. Had Joey spun Martin for the win I think Martin would have had a meltdown given last year’s bump and run at Martinsville. Martin Truex Jr. gets his first short track victory at the Cup level, finally the broadcasters can stop reminding us he didn’t have one.

In the pool we have Whiskey Matters, Three Amigos, Team Gerda, Whiskey Farms, Last Lap Handicaps.

Rounding out the top 10 we have Amigo Haters, Glens Pics, Kcar, Rollie, and 68 Dad.

Off weekend, yep I am sure the teams that need to find  some speed are okay with that.

Well I didn’t expect to see Kyle Busch in victory lane after getting in an accident in the first few laps in Bristol. Late race decision not to pit on the last caution got him into victory lane on Sunday. That is 3 race wins for him this year in the Cup series.

In the pool we have Three Amigos, 4LBoxOfRed, ScottME, Whiskey Farms, Snork Racing #2.

Rounding out the top 10 we have SLEDDIN, Peterson Racing, Rollie, Glen’s Pics, and Spare parts.

Kyle Busch gets the job done again in California, blew away the field, came from the back again to show they are the team to beat thus far this year. In doing so he gets his 200th Nascar win. Ties Richard Petty for all time Nascar wins, wow amazing. Kyle has a house just for all his trophies?

In the pool we have Whiskey Matters, Three Amigos, Whiskey Farms, Rear Gunner, Last Lap Handicaps.

Off to Martinsville we go this week, finally a short track! Look for Kyle Busch to be good here as well but at least there will be other contenders to make it a combination of best car and best pit strategy. Don’t want to get a speeding ticket on pit road at this place. Also don’t think we will see the waiting on pit road to the last minute for the final stage of qualifying.

Kyle Busch gets the job done in Phoenix, gets his 199th Nascar win. Strange how Kevin Harvick used to dominate this track but never even lead a lap on Sunday.

In the pool we have Whiskey Matters, Last Lap Handicaps, Three Amigos, Whiskey Farms.

Rounding out the top 10 we have Snork Racing #2, Peterson Racing, Team Gerda, Team Infinity War, and Amigo Haters.

Off to California Auto Club Speedway we go this week, another 1.5 mile track. Look for the familiar faces up front. Was nice to see Ryan Blaney run so well this weekend.

Well interesting race in Las Vegas. Like it not the new rules package is here to stay for the 1.5 mile tracks. The 550 HP in the cars this weekend in Vegas kept the cars closer. Not one caution other than cautions for the stage 1 and stage 2 finishes. Back to the 750 HP range this weekend in Phoenix.

In the pool we have Three Amigos, Wiskey Farms, Rear Gunner, Whiskey Matters, and Snork Racing #2.

Rounding out the top 10 we Peterson Racing, Amigo Haters, Big Buzz, Team Infinity War, and Team Gerda.

Most Points for the week goes to Rear Gunner with 259

Biggest move for the week goes to Orma Cunningham up 27 spots.

Biggest slide for the week goes to CarolK2 down 30 spots.

Well Joey Logano talked the talk and walked the walk getting the win at Homestead and subsequently the Championship for 2018.

Interestingly enough the 4 Chase contenders for the 2018 Championship finished the race 1-4. I think there was some pretty soft racing out there that allowed them all to race together at the end but I am sure they would all would want that consideration if they had a shot to win it all.

My final thought is Nascar should step in and not allow the drivers to blow the rear fenders off the car in post-race celebrations. If there was anything tweaked in the back fenders Nascar would never know once the fenders are destroyed from the burnouts. To that respect I can see Nascar making some rule changes over the offseason that will drastically will affect points when it comes to cars that are found to be blatantly altered for an advantage. After 4 out of 4 cars failed the Texas post-race/R&D Center inspection Nascar won’t put up with teams continually breaking the rules. Currently the reward for breaking the rules is greater than the risk.

Thank you to all the entered the 2018 pool, it was a good season of racing.

Congratulations to Three Amigos, the 2018 Pool Winner.
